When you pledge a contribution to our Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign, you get a reward. It’s sort of like the tickets you win for playing skee ball in the arcade: the more you pledge, the bigger the prize you can claim. We’ve created prizes for different types of contributors:

Pledge $150 and meet Chef Matt Jennings

If you want to go to the conference — and who wouldn’t? — there are rewards for getting involved at multiple levels:

  • $50 — Saturday Ticket: Get a ticket to all of Saturday’s events at The Biltmore, including the Keynote Address by Chef Matt Jennings, the Breakout Session focused on cuisines from different regions, and the Tasting Pavilion where up to 50 different restaurants, wineries, breweries and artisan food producers will be sampling their wares. You’ll also receive a gift bag full of goodies from our sponsors, access to audio recordings of the speakers, digital photos from the event, and your photo on our website. (A $65 value, and if you want to purchase tickets to the Friday or Sunday events separately, you will be able to do so later.)
  • $65 – Saturday Ticket & Friday Cocktail Reception: In addition to everything in the $50 pledge, you’ll also get a ticket to our Cocktail Reception Friday evening at The Dorrance. Come mingle with other passionate foodies and travelers (an $85 value; drinks not included).
  • $65 — Saturday Ticket & Sunday City Shuttle Tour: In addition to everything in the $50 pledge, you’ll also get a narrated tour of Providence on a comfortable shuttle bus on Sunday, September 22, 2013, courtesy of A Taste of Rhode Island (an $85 value).
  • $100 — Friday, Saturday and Sunday Events: Get a ticket to our Friday evening Cocktail Reception at The Dorrance, all of the Saturday activities at The Biltmore (keynote address, breakout session, tasting pavilion) and a walking culinary tour of Providence’s historic Federa Hill neighborhood courtesy of Cindy Salvato of Savoring Rhode Island. You’ll also get the gift bag, audio recording and digital photos (a $145 value).
  • $150 — Two tickets & Meet the Chef: Get two tickets to all of the Saturday events at the Biltmore (keynote address, breakout sessions, tasting pavilion), and meet our keynote speaker, Chef Matt Jennings of Farmstead in an exclusive and intimate meet-and-greet. You’ll also get the gift bag, audio recording and digital photos.

  • $120 – Saturday Tickets & Friday Cocktail Reception: In addition to everything in the $90 pledge above, you’ll also get two tickets to our Cocktail Reception Friday evening at The Dorrance. Come mingle with other passionate foodies and travelers (a $170 value; drinks not included).
  • $180 — Saturday Tickets & Sunday Culinary Tour: In addition to everything in the $90 pledge above, on Sunday morning, you and a guest are invited to go behind-the-scenes in top kitchens, learn insider info, and at the end, have a full belly and a true appreciation for the Providence food scene. Pledge $25 and get the book

We know that not everybody can make the conference, but we still want to thank you for supporting it, so we’ve created these rewards:

  • $5 — Photo on Website: Every bit of support counts, and if you pledge as little as $5, we’ll show our gratitude by posting your photo on our website.
  • $15 — Digital Photos: We’ll send you a set of mouth-watering digital photos from the event, plus post your photo on the website.
  • $25 — Audio Recordings: We’ll give you access to audio recordings of all the speakers so you can listen in on everything that happens at the conference. We’ll also send you the digital photos and post your photo on the website.
  • $25 — The Food Lovers’ Guide to Rhode Island: We’ll send you a copy of the brand new book, The Food Lovers’ Guide to Rhode Island, courtesy of Globe Pequot Press. We’ll also send you the digital photos and post your photo on the website.
  • $50 — Limited Edition Poster Print: We’ll send you a limited edition poster print to commemorate the nation’s first food tourism conference, designed by the incredible artist Pete Cardoso of Ghost Town Design House. We’ll also give you access to the audio recordings, send you the digital photos and post your photo on the website.

Businesses That Want to Be Involved

We’ve also heard from a lot of businesses that want to be involved, so we’ve designed packages for them as well. Of course, we’ll be selling sponsorship packages even after the Kickstarter campaign ends, but these packages are less expensive through Kickstarter:

  • $25 — Logo on Website: We’ll post your logo and a link to your website on the Thank You page of our website.
  • $100 — Gift Bags: We’ll include your organizations promotional materials in up to 300 gift bags that we give out to conference attendees. We’ll also post your logo and link on our website (a $150 value).
  • $150 — Tasting Pavilion Table: We’ll give you a table in our Tasting Pavilion, where you can sample your wares and interact with conference attendees. It’s a great way to build relationships with the foodie community. We’ll also post your logo and link on our website (a $200 value).
  • $400 — Silver Sponsorship Package: (1) Your organization’s name and logo included on the Thank You page for the Taste Trekkers Website, (2) Your logo displayed on all scrolling projector screens at the conference, (3) A vendor table at the Tasting Pavilion to sample your goods and services, (4) Your promotional item included in up to 300 gift bags (a $500 value).
  • $800 — Gold Sponsorship Package: (1) Your organization’s name and logo included on the Taste Trekkers Website (all pages) and all email blasts, (2) your logo displayed on all scrolling projector screens at the conference, (3) A vendor table at the Tasting Pavilion to sample your goods and services, (4) Your promotional item included in up to 300 gift bags (a $1,000 value).
