Over 65,000 people will join the festivities at the annual Queen City Sausage Festival in Newport, Kentucky, just across the river from the beautiful downtown Cincinnati skyline and Reds and Bengal stadiums.

The festival was created by and is managed by the local, iconic craft sausage maker, Queen City Sausage Company. While other food festivals celebrate cultures, the QCS Festival celebrates a specific food…great German sausage!

Queen City Sausage is best known for authentic German recipes, small batch production, real hickory wood smoke, hand mixed spices and a company history dating back to 1965. The company maintains a strict commitment to quality ingredients and preparation. All festival vendors use Queen City sausages and goetta!

While there are hundreds of reasons to attend the festival, here are just a few we picked out to feature!

1. Over 27 different ways to enjoy Queen City sausages

Creativity and deliciousness rule! There's no duplication among the food vendors, so half the fun is deciding what to try next! Festival favorites include Beer battered mett on a stick. Smoked endless kielbasa. Sausage kabobs. Cincinnati style brats and much more. A new German themed pizza will be unveiled at the festival. The pizza will feature Queen City sausages in a Reuben style topping complete with spicy mustard, sauerkraut and cheese.

2. There's live, local music

There is continuous live music on 2 stages during all hours of the festival. The Queen City UnPlugged stage will feature 28 young and upcoming local musicians who compete for prizes including a guitar, courtesy of Willis Music.

3. Free admission!

That’s right! Enjoy the music and hangout in the huge shade tent with dynamic views of the Ohio River and Cincinnati skyline.

4. T-shirts and games for the kids

At the new Queen City Sausage T-Shirt booth, you can watch your t-shirt selection being made before your eyes. There are six different styles to choose from.

We've also expanded the kid’s rides and games. We are always looking for ways to make the kids happy at the festival. We think we have found some great ways for the kids to have even more fun!

4. Tex-Mex lovers, rejoice!

This year, we are introducing a new booth that features jumbo burritos or bowls filled with Queen City smoked metts, Hot Metts, brats, and Goetta! You decide! Add rice salsa, lettuce and more!

5. There's lots of history on display

Our founder and president Elmer J. Hensler will also be on hand during the festival. The festival is a way for Elmer and Queen City to connect with customers.
