5 Reasons to Attend the Cincy Brew Ha-Ha Festival
Looking for a few laughs and some great beer? Check out the Cincy Brew Ha-Ha Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Aug 21-23, Cincinnati Riverfront
Cincy Brew Ha-Ha is one of, if not the biggest free, outdoor comedy shows in the country. And as the name implies, there are certainly plenty of laughs and lagers to choose from. But don't let the name limit your expectations. Three are many reasons, including the comedy and the beer to make it a must- do, end-of-the-summer event.
1. It's free to get in.
Sure you have to pay for the beer. But it's cheap! Assuming you’re 21, you buy a wristband each day for $5. Then you can buy beer samples for $1 and a full serving is just 5 bucks. And there are 120 beers to choose from, way too many to list. Just be guaranteed there will be something you’ve had and liked and something new you’ve never tried. Oh, and Fat Tire and Deschutes are hosting beer gardens.
2. You can see comedy national headliners...for free.
So if you don’t drink beer, you can still come and see three national headliners and 50 comedians, on four stages, for free! The headliners are Bobcat Goldthwait on Thursday, The Sklar Brothers on Friday and David Alan Grier, or as we like to call him, DAG, on Saturday. You may remember DAG from the cult sketch comedy show “In Living Color.” And did we mention it’s free?
3. You'll have free wi-fi on the Ohio Riverfront.
Cincinnati Bell will light up Cincy Brew Ha-Ha with free Wi-Fi and video screens as the official video and wi-fi provider. That means you can stay connected, for free, while enjoying the great outdoors, strolling along the Ohio riverfront.
4. You'll get a chance to try some of Cincinnati's best and most unique foods.
Eli's BBQ will be there. Typically, you have to stand in line for what feels like hours at Eli's small shop on Riverside Drive to place your order, the scent of tender, hickory smoked pork, slapped with a “vinegar mop” tormenting you as you practice patience, knowing it will all be worth it. Brew Ha-Ha has Eli's on site and ready to serve. Also new this year is the Hungry Food Truck. Chef Josh Campbell's Wheelsburgers and Mt. Healthies veggie burgers made to order.
5. It's so popular and successful, we start it on Thursday.
After seven years of record breaking attendance, the 2014 Cincy Brew Ha-Ha is starting the weekend a day early, adding a third day to the event. It kicks off Thursday August 21 at 5pm. Complete event hours are 5pm to midnight on Thursday and Friday, August 22. Saturday, August 23 it opens at 4pm and goes until midnight.
Start your weekend early with a few laughs, a few beers and much, much more at Cincy Brew Ha-Ha!
