Salt Lake City’s most recognisable local item is fry sauce — a mayonnaise and ketchup blend served with chips as a matter of course, and treated as unremarkable here in a way it is nowhere else.
The city’s restaurant scene has grown substantially, concentrated downtown, in the 9th and 9th district and along Broadway. Utah’s liquor laws are unusual and worth reading up on before planning an evening around them.
